Your role: Holding self to hold others, using presence as your foundation, and how your way of being matters most. Your job is to protect, equalize and connect.

Your students role:  Seeing students in their full humanity, aware of their strengths and challenges as they relate to their mind, body, and spirit.

Topics to consider: Energy, non-verbal communication, trauma (sensitivity), merits and limits of anatomy, group think, silent or passive impacts of you and group members in the process, importance of a support team, confidentiality, agreements, and rules.

How we lead Verbal, non-verbal, passive, and active assists, quality of touch, power of seeing and modeling, importance of getting out of the participant's way as well as your own.

Logistics:  How to create and hold space in group and individual settings, setting clear intentions, knowing when to move towards or away, keep time, facilitation and management of discussion, and navigating hijacks and disruptions.

Every time people are being brought together there is an opportunity to help one another, to do what they couldn’t do, think up or heal alone. Gatherings crackle and flourish when real thought goes into them, when (often invisible) structure is baked into them, and when a host has the curiosity, willingness, and generosity of spirit to try. ~ Priya Parker
