What is mindfulness?
How can we make use of it in our daily lives?
At its core, mindfulness is about cultivating awareness and paying attention to the present moment. It's about turning on your awareness, getting in your body, and developing a relationship with yourself. Rather than getting "caught in a morass of seaweed and story and drama" in your head, mindfulness helps you notice what’s actually happening in front of you. It's a personal responsibility, not a luxury, that empowers you to show up authentically for yourself and everyone you interact with….
Embodiment as a Way of Being
In a world encouraging external pursuits and intellectual living, disconnection and overwhelm are common. We are told fulfillment comes from the outside; praise, money, promotions, status, etc. Yet, these things often leave us feeling like we’re missing something. A truly fulfilling life stems from authentic connection with oneself. Love and belonging are humanity's most primitive needs, beyond food and shelter. This fundamental drive to connect is essential for our emotional well-being and mental health. When this need is unmet, it leads to significant suffering. People feel more judgment, more rejection, more alone and more fear of being alone.
